Babatunde Emmanuel

Babatunde Emmanuel Olarewaju is a highly accomplished, results-driven Agricultural Expert and Entrepreneur with more than 15 years of professional experience advancing sustainable food systems, optimizing value chains, and expanding international market access across West Africa and Europe. As the founder and CEO of FutuX Agri-consult Limited, he has built a distinguished record of leading large-scale agricultural initiatives, establishing robust compliance frameworks, and forging strategic partnerships among national governments, private-sector players, and international development agencies including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), GIZ, and the World Bank.

A recognized expert in food safety management systems, climate-smart agriculture, and corporate social responsibility (CSR), Babatunde has designed and scaled capacity-building programs that have empowered more than 35,000 smallholder farmers and agribusiness SMEs. He holds an M.Phil. with Distinction and a B.Agric. with First Class Honors from Obafemi Awolowo University, and completed the Agriculture Management Programme at Lagos Business School. He is a certified PECB Lead Auditor for ISO 22000, HACCP Practitioner, and master trainer in GlobalG.A.P. and GRASP. He is a member of Chatham House, the Forest Stewardship Council, and the Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria.

At the helm of FutuX Agri-consult Limited (Nigeria) and FutuX Agri-consult UG (Germany), Babatunde spearheads international business growth, connecting European and German food retailers with sustainable, certified agro-export produce. He has served as Technical Director for the Agricultural Economic and Capital Investment Demand Survey under the JICA Two-Step Loan Project, co-created a resilience initiative for 10,000 tomato farmers funded by Heifer International, and led comprehensive value chain analyses for sorghum and millet across six northern Nigerian states for the World Food Programme (WFP).
